Issa Rae\u2019s next project is coming to you vertically\u2014and on TikTok.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Hoorae Media, the star\u2019s media production company, and TikTok announced on Wednesday a partnership to bring free exclusive micro-series content to TikTok and its PineDrama app.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The collaboration launches later this April starting with Screen Time<\/em>, produced by Hoorae<\/a> Digital<\/a>. This will be Hoorae\u2019s first micro-drama series, with the media company co-developing a slate of additional micro-series with TikTok as part of the deal.\u00a0<\/p>\n The partnership marks Rae\u2019s return to her digital roots<\/a>, she said at TheWrap\u2019s Creator x Hollywood Summit on Wednesday. Her first digital series, \u201cThe MisAdventures of Awkward Black Girl,\u201d began on YouTube in 2011.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Rae shared that her team designed Screen Time<\/em> to align with how audiences watch content today\u2014\u201cmore intentional, immersive, and story-driven.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m excited about the opportunity to tell stories in a way that feels premium and elevated, but is concise and available to audiences directly,\u201d said Rae, in a statement. \u201cTikTok has become a leader in discovery and supporting creator-led content so partnering with them gives us the platform to ensure our stories are seen and shared across the globe.\u201d<\/p>\n
