Samsung\u2019s must recent security update has reportedly left owners of these recent flagships with a daily nightmare as batteries drain rapidly and devices start to overheat. <\/p>\n<p>Samsung users are not alone, with Google\u2019s Pixel owners also reporting \u201csevere\u201d battery drain after the moist recent security update. The company has yet to acknowledge the issue, leaving users without a fix.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not yet clear what has caused these latest issues, with Meta apps flagged as one potential cause. But the other culprit could be Samsung\u2019s own Knox Matrix platform, which provides Apple-like security across the Samsung ecosystem. This has recently been enhanced, and so could be a logical source of such issues.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"link-embed__info\"><span class=\"link-embed__provider\">Forbes<\/span><span class=\"link-embed__title\">Google Confirms Gmail Upgrade And Warns Of \u2018Sophisticated\u2019 AI Attacks<\/span><small class=\"link-embed__byline\">By <span class=\"link-embed__author\">Zak Doffman<\/span><\/small><\/span><span class=\"link-embed__thumbnail-wrapper\"><span class=\"link-embed__thumbnail allow-inline-style\" style=\"background-image:url(https:\/\/specials-images.forbesimg.com\/imageserve\/68b0cd8f97c3bf5ddea4d241\/960x0.jpg?cropX1=737&amp;cropX2=1872&amp;cropY1=356&amp;cropY2=995)\"\/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It\u2019s truly tormenting when you install an update,&#8221; Android Authority says, \u201conly for it to ruin an important aspect of your phone, such as the battery.\u201d Some users are warning that their batteries drain within just a few hours, albeit most will see an impact but not one as crippling to their daily phone use as this.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, there are also now reports that Samsung has issued a \u201c<a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"color-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.droid-life.com\/2026\/04\/27\/samsung-sending-surprise-2nd-april-update\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" data-ga-track=\"ExternalLink:https:\/\/www.droid-life.com\/2026\/04\/27\/samsung-sending-surprise-2nd-april-update\/\" aria-label=\"surprise\">surprise<\/a>&#8221; second security update for users this month, with Galaxy S26 and S25 phones affected.
