The response was clear: that argument is hard to dismiss. The harder question is what comes next: \u201cif not this, then what?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"content-chunk\">\n<p>It\u2019s the right question. Because the problem was never that AI doesn\u2019t work. It clearly does. The problem is that we tried to place it in the wrong layer.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-we-didn-t-fail-at-ai-we-failed-at-where-we-put-it\">We didn\u2019t fail at AI. We failed at where we put it.<\/h2>\n<p>Over the last two years, companies have invested tens of billions into generative AI. The result is not ambiguity. We tried to bolt intelligence onto workflows.
