Uninstall any apps that you don\u2019t trust or recognize.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Per <a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"color-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sammyfans.com\/2026\/05\/14\/one-ui-9-beta-shows-new-ways-to-handle-unknown-apps-and-alerts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" data-ga-track=\"ExternalLink:https:\/\/www.sammyfans.com\/2026\/05\/14\/one-ui-9-beta-shows-new-ways-to-handle-unknown-apps-and-alerts\/\" aria-label=\"SammyFans\"><em data-ga-track=\"ExternalLink:https:\/\/www.sammyfans.com\/2026\/05\/14\/one-ui-9-beta-shows-new-ways-to-handle-unknown-apps-and-alerts\/\">SammyFans<\/em><\/a>, the current One UI 9 beta \u201cwill make Galaxy phones safer and smarter.\u201d Both Google and Samsung are clamping down on sideloading, which is now more restricted thanks to Google\u2019s new police change that forces developers to be registered before they can push apps to mainstream devices. Android 17 also enhanced live threat detection to catch threats early.<\/p>\n<p>Samsung was earlier than Google in locking down phones to protect against malicious apps installed from outside Play Store or its own store. This easy one-touch option to isolate all such apps and then delete them from a phone is a major step forward.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"embed-base image-embed embed-0\" role=\"presentation\">\n<div>\n<div class=\"bMqrj\">\n<p><span style=\"-webkit-line-clamp:2\" class=\"Ccg9Ib-7 _8XF2kHYM\">Manage Unknown Apps<\/span><\/p>\n<p><small class=\"pGGCM2aD\">Android Authority<\/small><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>But the real question is how fast will it finds it way onto phones. One UI 8.5 was finally released some five months after the first beta went live. No one will want to see this repeated with One UI 9. Android 17 upgrades will hit Pixels fairly soon. The clock will start ticking then. <\/p>\n<p>Per <a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"color-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.t3.com\/tech\/android-phones\/your-samsung-galaxy-s26-just-got-android-17-already-heres-what-one-ui-9-adds-and-how-to-get-it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" data-ga-track=\"ExternalLink:https:\/\/www.t3.com\/tech\/android-phones\/your-samsung-galaxy-s26-just-got-android-17-already-heres-what-one-ui-9-adds-and-how-to-get-it\" aria-label=\"T3\"><em data-ga-track=\"ExternalLink:https:\/\/www.t3.com\/tech\/android-phones\/your-samsung-galaxy-s26-just-got-android-17-already-heres-what-one-ui-9-adds-and-how-to-get-it\">T3<\/em><\/a>, \u201cAndroid 17 is expected to make its debut on Pixel some time in June or July 2026, with Samsung debuting One UI 9 and Android 17 on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 \u2013 expected to launch on 22 July.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Google has already <a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"color-link\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.google\/security\/whats-new-in-android-security-privacy-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" data-ga-track=\"ExternalLink:https:\/\/blog.google\/security\/whats-new-in-android-security-privacy-2026\/\" aria-label=\"confirmed\">confirmed<\/a> that Android 17 will focus on security and privacy, as it narrows the gap to iPhone.
