‘Gundam Rogue Orbit’ is released next year.<\/span><\/p>\n Bandai Namco<\/small><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n A slightly different kind of Gundam <\/em>game has been announced, where you seemingly fight giant alien monsters. Called Gundam Rogue Orbit<\/em><\/a> it certainly looks interesting.<\/p>\n I need to be up front here, as I knew about this game a good few years ago, but thought it had been canceled.<\/p>\n I’m glad it wasn\u2019t, as it genuinely looks very impressive and quite different for a Gundam <\/em>game.<\/p>\n This is because the main enemies in this game look to be large chitinous alien monsters, which your titular Gundam <\/em>can slice into tiny pieces.<\/p>\n If you\u2019re thinking that this kind of pairing up of mecha and monsters is new, you\u2019d be quite wrong.<\/p>\n Back in 2011, Konami released an arcade game called Steel Chronicle<\/em><\/a>, which had large mecha take down large scary monsters.<\/p>\n This was done in part to compete with other big mecha multiplayer games in the Japanese arcades, such as Sega\u2019s Border Break<\/em>.<\/p>\n Also, in terms of Gundam<\/em>, we also had large, scary aliens as the main antagonists in the Gundam 00<\/em> movie, Awakening of the Trailblazer<\/em>.<\/p>\n Not to mention the Lost Planet<\/em><\/a> series of games, so this kind of pairing up is not at all new for mecha games.<\/p>\n In any case, there\u2019s a long and quite storied history of mecha versus monsters, and I am glad Gundam <\/em>is leaning into that, at least in game form anyway.<\/p>\n Gundam Rogue Orbit<\/em> also looks very nice indeed, and the game is using Unreal Engine.
