So, consider this your one and only warning<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Here are today\u2019s NYT Connections<\/em> answers explained (and any red herrings I spot) for Wednesday, June 17:<\/p>\n Play Puzzles & Games on Forbes<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \ud83d\udfe8 alcove (CAVITY, NICHE, NOOK, RECESS)<\/p>\n Yep, straightforward enough here. Thanks, category title.<\/p>\n \u201cAlcove\u201d always makes me think of one of my all-time favorite films, In Bruges<\/em>. \u201cNooks and crannies, yes!\u201d<\/p>\n \ud83d\udfe9 bodily words for attitude (CHEEK, LIP, MOUTH, NERVE)<\/p>\n This is a fun one. They\u2019re all body-related words that can mean \u201cimpudence\u201d or \u201cback talk.\u201d<\/p>\n \ud83d\udfe6 figures in Greek myth (CALLIOPE, ECHO, IRIS, NEMESIS)<\/p>\n CALLIOPE is a goddess of music, song and dance. She is said to have inspired epic poetry.<\/p>\n ECHO is the goddess of, well, echoes. \u201cThe goddess Hera cursed her with just an echo for a voice as punishment for distracting her from the affairs of Zeus with her endless chatter,\u201d according to the Theoi Project<\/a>. Sounds like a supervillain origin story to me.<\/p>\n IRIS is a famous Goo Goo Dolls son- sorry. She is the goddess of the rainbow. Love that for her.<\/p>\n NEMESIS is the goddess of vengeance, revenge, retribution and balance. What a rad combination<\/a>.<\/p>\n \ud83d\udfea starting with synonyms for “ilk” (CLASSIC, KINDLE, SORTIE, TYPEFACE)<\/p>\n These refer to:<\/p>\n Connections often has some red herrings. KINDLE and NOOK are both types of e-readers. KINDLE and ECHO are Amazon devices.
