Our columnist Graham Averill takes us along to check out the public art, booming food scene, and more.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"article-body\">\n<p>Published July 29, 2026 01:30PM<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Is this the perfect town in America? It sure is close; it\u2019s one of my top towns for mountain biking (ranked number 2 on my list)<\/p>\n<p>Bentonville is known for its unique take on trail access, which it blends witha progressive approach to public art. On top of that, they throw in a dash of incredible food. It\u2019s an enticing combination that you have to check out.<\/p>\n<p>This town is all about bikes, and if you\u2019re not traveling with your own, the first thing you need to do is head to <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"article-content-link text-brand-primary underline hover:text-brand-primary\/85 break-words overflow-wrap-anywhere underline-offset-[3px]\" data-afl-p=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/adventurelabnwa.com\/\">Scott Adventure Lab<\/a> for a rental. They\u2019ll get you set up with a mountain bike or an electric mountain bike so you can hit the local trails, all of which are E-mountain bike friendly.<\/p>\n<h2>Ride the All-American Trail<\/h2>\n<p>The first trail every mountain biker should ride when they visit Bentonville is the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"article-content-link text-brand-primary underline hover:text-brand-primary\/85 break-words overflow-wrap-anywhere underline-offset-[3px]\" rel=\"noopener\" data-afl-p=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.trailforks.com\/trails\/allamerican-317892\/\">All-American Trail<\/a>. It\u2019s a mile-long flowy piece of singletrack and connects to the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"article-content-link text-brand-primary underline hover:text-brand-primary\/85 break-words overflow-wrap-anywhere underline-offset-[3px]\" rel=\"noopener\" data-afl-p=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.oztrails.com\/trail\/slaughter-pen\/\">Greater Slaughter Pen Trail System<\/a>. One of the coolest things about All-American is that the trailhead is just off of Bentonville\u2019s downtown square.<\/p>\n<p>So when you\u2019re done, you can go get an amazing brisket at <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"article-content-link text-brand-primary underline hover:text-brand-primary\/85 break-words overflow-wrap-anywhere underline-offset-[3px]\" rel=\"noopener\" data-afl-p=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wrightsbbq.com\/\">Wright\u2019s Barbecue<\/a>, which is located right next to the trailhead. Grab a room at <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"article-content-link text-brand-primary underline hover:text-brand-primary\/85 break-words overflow-wrap-anywhere underline-offset-[3px]\" rel=\"noopener\" data-afl-p=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/21cmuseumhotels.com\/\">21c Museum Hotel<\/a>, which is right off the square. 21c blends modern art into every aspect of the hotel experience. They also have a bike concierge. But don\u2019t get too comfortable because you have a lot of mountain biking to do.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2742895\" class=\"pom-image-wrap photo-alignnone\"><figcaption class=\"pom-caption\"><span class=\"article__caption\">Slaughter Pen Mountain Bike Trails is Bentonville\u2019s premier mountain biking park, where single-track trails welcome riders of every skill. <\/span> (Photo: Courtesy of VB \/ Getty)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Coler Mountain Bike Preserve + Crystal Bridges Art<\/h2>\n<p>The next ride on your list is in <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"article-content-link text-brand-primary underline hover:text-brand-primary\/85 break-words overflow-wrap-anywhere underline-offset-[3px]\" rel=\"noopener\" data-afl-p=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.trailforks.com\/region\/coler-mountain-bike-preserve\/\">Coler Mountain Bike Preserve<\/a>, which has 20 miles of flow and technical single track, as well as a coffee shop that you can only reach by trail. And no trip to Bentonville is complete without doing laps at the new OZ Trails bike park, a lift-served bike park with more than 20 miles of single track.<\/p>\n<p>Now that you\u2019re worn out from riding your bike, it\u2019s time to get cultured. Bentonville has a public arts program with murals and installations scattered throughout town. The centerpiece of the program is <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"article-content-link text-brand-primary underline hover:text-brand-primary\/85 break-words overflow-wrap-anywhere underline-offset-[3px]\" rel=\"noopener\" data-afl-p=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/crystalbridges.org\/\">Crystal Bridges<\/a>, a free museum with an astonishing collection of American art.\u00a0 You could spend a full day in this museum and not even scratch the surface of what\u2019s available.<\/p>\n<h2>Where to Eat in Bentonville<\/h2>\n<p>Now let\u2019s talk about food. Bentonville has a surprisingly good culinary scene, and there are a few spots that you have to hit. The first is <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"article-content-link text-brand-primary underline hover:text-brand-primary\/85 break-words overflow-wrap-anywhere underline-offset-[3px]\" rel=\"noopener\" data-afl-p=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/yeyosnwa.com\/\">Yeyo\u2019s<\/a>, a Mexican family-run restaurant with a five-time James Beard Award semifinalist chef. I like their food truck just off the square. You also have to check out <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"article-content-link text-brand-primary underline hover:text-brand-primary\/85 break-words overflow-wrap-anywhere underline-offset-[3px]\" rel=\"noopener\" data-afl-p=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bentoville.com\/\">Bentonville Food Theater<\/a>, which has a rotating selection of pop-up kitchens. I walked in one night and had the best ramen I\u2019ve ever ate in my entire life.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re looking for a fun place to get a drink, you have to check out <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"article-content-link text-brand-primary underline hover:text-brand-primary\/85 break-words overflow-wrap-anywhere underline-offset-[3px]\" rel=\"noopener\" data-afl-p=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dangerdaves.com\/\">Danger Dave\u2019s<\/a>. This is an eclectic bar in an old house just a few blocks outside of downtown. I love it because it\u2019s weird in all the right ways. And when you need to pick-me-up in the morning, I highly recommend <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"article-content-link text-brand-primary underline hover:text-brand-primary\/85 break-words overflow-wrap-anywhere underline-offset-[3px]\" rel=\"noopener\" data-afl-p=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/onyxcoffeelab.com\/\">Onyx Coffee Lab<\/a>. It\u2019s been recognized as the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"article-content-link text-brand-primary underline hover:text-brand-primary\/85 break-words overflow-wrap-anywhere underline-offset-[3px]\" rel=\"noopener\" data-afl-p=\"0\" href=\"https:\/\/theworlds100bestcoffeeshops.com\/locales\/onyx-coffee-lab\/\">world\u2019s best coffee shop<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Easy trail access, great food, public art.
