Starbucks first introduced its Pumpkin Spice Latte in September back in 2003, and the release date has crept up nearly every year since, landing as early as mid-August. But the data is showing pumpkin spice may finally be turning into a pumpkin, and franchises are right there with the trend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPumpkin spice lattes have long since graduated from trend status\u2026 but our data shows signs that it may be reaching its peak,\u201d says Cristen Milliner, consumer trends expert at <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/about.doordash.com\/en-us\/news\/doordash-fall-flavor-trends\" id=\"https:\/\/about.doordash.com\/en-us\/news\/doordash-fall-flavor-trends\">DoorDash<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Pecan orders jumped 28% year over year, and chains are stacking their fall menus with banana, tiramisu, apple and marshmallow flavors instead of leaning on the usual favorite, according to  <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thetakeout.com\/2240224\/fall-2026-fast-food-lineups-not-pumpkin-spice\/\" id=\"https:\/\/www.thetakeout.com\/2240224\/fall-2026-fast-food-lineups-not-pumpkin-spice\/\">The Takeout<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Starbucks dropped its fall menu Aug. 25 with three pecan drinks alongside a new Iced Banana Bread Latte and a chai-cider hybrid called the Chaider. Dunkin\u2019 went all in on tiramisu, launching four new drinks including a Tiramisu Cloud Latte topped with marshmallow cold foam. McDonald\u2019s skipped pumpkin entirely this year, building its McCafe menu around a Caramel Apple Pie Latte instead.<\/p>\n<p>Chick-fil-A leaned into campfire nostalgia with a S\u2019mores Frosted Coffee, while Wendy\u2019s took a direct jab at pumpkin spice in its own press release, calling its new Apple Crumble Frosty Fusion the pick \u201cfor those craving a sweet taste of fall beyond pumpkin spice.\u201d Dairy Queen, which has run its Pumpkin Pie Blizzard since 1991, is adding a Brown Sugar Cookie Dough Blizzard to the mix this year too.<\/p>\n<p><ent-results id=\"results\" class=\"ent-component\" is-article-embed=\"true\" should-update-url=\"false\" lead-source-type=\"article\" lead-source-id=\"450746\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re seeing what I call comfort rushing, where people reach for fall staples earlier than ever as a way to ease the end-of-summer slump,\u201d Milliner added.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneur.com\/buying-a-franchise\/pumpkin-spice-fatigue-these-flavors-are-stealing-the-spotlight-at-franchises\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own.
