Just look at the evidence: Software stocks alone have <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/petercohan\/2026\/02\/06\/saaspocalypse-now-ai-is-disrupting-saas---but-not-all-software-is-doomed\/\">lost over $1 trillion in value<\/a> since the start of 2026 as AI tools have eliminated the need for many licenses.<\/p>\n<p>But simply signing up for the latest consumer LLM isn\u2019t necessarily a silver bullet solution either. To date, the actual cost savings AI has produced for the businesses that adopt it come in <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2026-06-01\/bain-finds-corporate-ai-investments-based-on-returns-that-haven-t-arrived\">well below what executives projected<\/a>. So what does that mean for founders looking to future-proof their companies?<\/p>\n<p>The only lesson to take from this, as far as I\u2019m concerned, is that there\u2019s no such thing as a set-and-forget strategy for business growth anymore. Technology is simply changing too quickly.
