He says he negotiated a 25-year lease with terms he calls unrepeatable, then explained his real motivation: \u201cBecause I could.\u201d He\u2019d spent decades building leverage \u2014 financial, relational, creative \u2014 so when the window opened, he was ready to walk through it.<br \/><strong>Takeaway: <\/strong>Keep building your skills and resources now, so when the moment comes, you\u2019re actually ready to say yes.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><\/figure>\n<p><em>Photo credit: Embassy Studios<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Frank\u2019s core advice to entrepreneurs is blunt and unforgettable. He says inspiration and determination are everything, and if you find yourself wavering, you probably shouldn\u2019t be doing it in the first place. In his words, \u201cYour foot is on the pedal, and it never comes off.\u201d He\u2019s quick to add that pivots are fine \u2014 even smart \u2014 but quitting never is.<br \/><strong>Takeaway: <\/strong>Give yourself full permission to pivot, but never give yourself permission to quit.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-his-lowest-point-became-the-turning-point\">His Lowest Point Became the Turning Point<\/h2>\n<p>In his early 20s, Frank was working days in the music business and nights loading trucks in a warehouse, unsure where his next check was coming from. He told his wife he wasn\u2019t sure he could keep going. Her response reframed everything: \u201cDo you love what you do?\u201d When he said yes, she told him, \u201cWell, I don\u2019t think you should stop.\u201d That moment, he says, is the only time in his career he seriously considered quitting \u2014 and not quitting changed his life.<br \/><strong>Takeaway: <\/strong>When you hit a real low, ask yourself if you still love the work \u2014 not whether the work is currently easy.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-hold-the-vision-hand-off-the-execution\">Hold the Vision, Hand Off the Execution<\/h2>\n<p>Frank admits one of his biggest early mistakes was trying to do everything himself \u2014 producer, songwriter, business guy, all at once. He says entrepreneurs often get \u201cblinded\u201d by their own vision and stop listening to real expertise around them. His fix when building Embassy Studios: keep the vision, but let the right experts execute it. As he puts it, \u201cJust get the best people around you.\u201d<br \/><strong>Takeaway: <\/strong>Protect your vision fiercely, but hire people who are better than you at making it real.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-quality-beats-cheap-every-time\">Quality Beats Cheap, Every Time<\/h2>\n<p>Comparing notes with Sam Adams founder Jim Koch, Frank realized they\u2019d landed on the same philosophy: you either compete on price or you compete on being better. He chose better.
