The last few weeks have not been good PR for AI, as tech titans and researchers continue to blow the whistle on their fears of AI agents going rogue. <\/p>\n
But Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang isn\u2019t one of these people. He told CBS News<\/a> there is a \u201c0% chance\u201d AI ends humanity by 2030. Speaking with the New York Times\u2019 Ezra Klein<\/a>, he called the doomsday predictions from AI pioneers like Geoffrey Hinton \u201churtful\u201d and unscientific.<\/p>\n His comments are a reaction to an incident in which hundreds of rogue OpenAI agents escaped a testing environment and hacked Hugging Face, the open-model platform Nvidia agreed to buy for $12.9 billion. <\/p>\n Huang calls that a containment failure, not a sign of bots gone wild.\u201d If a product isn\u2019t ready, he says, don\u2019t ship it. And if labs can\u2019t keep their experiments contained, they should shut down.<\/p>\n He rejected calls from AI lab employees for regulation to help them slow down, arguing companies already have every incentive to act responsibly.<\/p>\n Hugging Face CEO Clem Delangue isn\u2019t worried either. Mocking an ex-Anthropic researcher\u2019s warnings, he posted on X<\/a>: \u201cAsking [him] about AI extinction risk is like asking your AC guy about climate change.\u201d<\/p>\n
