Exactly five weeks ago today (<a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.resiclubanalytics.com\/p\/japan-firms-accelerate-us-homebuilder-buying-spree-tri-pointe-homes-acquisition-housing-market\">February 13<\/a>), Japan-based Sumitomo Forestry announced that it had agreed to acquire Tri Pointe Homes\u2014a giant public homebuilder ranked No. 715 on the Fortune 1000\u2014for $4.5 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Then on <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.resiclubanalytics.com\/p\/japanese-builders-quickly-acquiring-american-homebuilders-daiwa-house-buys-united-homes-housing\">February 23<\/a>, Stanley Martin Homes\u2014which has been owned by Japan-based Daiwa House since 2017\u2014announced that it has agreed to buy United Homes Group, which has a strong presence in the Carolinas, for $221 million.
