{"id":9477,"date":"2026-03-26T10:13:42","date_gmt":"2026-03-26T10:13:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wildgreenquest.com\/?p=9477"},"modified":"2026-03-26T10:13:42","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T10:13:42","slug":"why-some-gen-z-women-are-putting-work-over-love-and-family","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wildgreenquest.com\/?p=9477","title":{"rendered":"Why some Gen Z women are putting work over love and family"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<br \/><\/p>\n<div data-testid=\"content-chunk\">\n<p>With the high career costs associated with motherhood, and in a challenging economy, more young women are choosing to put work ahead of love and family.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"content-chunk\">\n<p>According to a recent survey of 1,000 American working mothers by online resume builder Zety, <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/zety.com\/blog\/motherhood-work-impact-report\">76% have been explicitly advised to delay having children<\/a> until they\u2019re more established in their careers, and 57% postponed motherhood for that reason.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hate that advice, because we should be living in a world where no matter what you\u2019re doing outside of work, you should be able to achieve your career goals,\u201d says Zety career expert Jasmine Escalera. \u201cYes, it is sound advice, but it\u2019s advice people feel they need to give because of the work culture we have here in the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The study found that working moms face a slew of career challenges that prevent them from achieving their career potential while starting a family.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"content-chunk\">\n<p>For example, 84% said their pregnancy was seen as an inconvenience at work, and 81% were asked to return from maternity leave early. The vast majority, 87%, say that becoming a mother negatively impacted their careers.
