Key Takeaways Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has been leading the AI chipmaker since founding it in 1993. In a new interview, Huang explained that he avoids one-on-ones with his 60 direct reports. That way, no single leader gets special information or privileged access to him. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang skips one-on-ones with his dozens of direct reports in favor of team meetings because he wants everyone operating with the same information and solving problems together out in the open, according to a recent episode of the Lex Fridman Podcast. Huang’s leadership structure is intentionally extreme by traditional standards. Instead of…
Stressed tired healthcare worker sitting on floorgettyOnce again, “The Pitt” has captured something real, pinpointing the chronic problem of stress and burnout in our health system. Toward the end of Season 2, Episode 12, third-year medical student Joy Kwon leaves when her shift is over, even though the ER is busier than usual. Dr. Langdon, a resident who has been battling addiction throughout this season, tells her most people stay when things are in “disaster mode.”Joy: “You know 62% of ED docs report suffering from burnout?”Langdon: “Painfully aware.”Joy: “So maybe all you lunatics need to learn to set some boundaries,…
Everyone hates autocorrect on their iPhones, but few realize what has actually caused problems. When you tapped a character while typing quickly, the key would sometimes expand, but no character would appear in the text box. Those missing “ghost letters” hampered autocorrect’s ability to guess what you were trying to write. Apple released iOS 26.4, fixing the bug — sort of. Testing showed the new software produced fewer errors. Users can also reset their keyboard dictionary or build custom autocorrect shortcuts to improve accuracy. But the update only solves part of the problem. Autocorrect still runs on the same machine-learning…
After weeks of chaos in U.S. airports, the Transportation Safety Administration said the first paychecks in weeks are being sent as early as Monday to its workers, giving the beleaguered aviation system a boost of optimism.Wait times at some TSA security bottlenecks, such as the airport checkpoints in Atlanta and Houston, improved significantly Monday morning. But how long it will take for long security lines to consistently return to normal — and how long federal immigration officers will stay in airports — remains unknown as the busy spring break travel season continues. The DHS shutdown has resulted in not only travel delays but also warnings of airport closures as TSA workers…
Chip makers have a big problem they can’t manufacture their way out of. When Iran struck Qatar’s largest liquefied natural gas facility last week, it damaged helium production lines that could take years to rebuild, according to the New York Times. Qatar produces roughly a third of the world’s helium supply, and that output is now offline. Without helium, leading chip makers including TSMC, Samsung and SK Hynix could struggle to keep production running. Helium cools superconducting magnets during chip manufacturing and flushes toxic residue after wafers are washed. The gas is irreplaceable for making chips that power iPhones and…
On Friday, President Trump signed an executive order funding the TSA for the time being, meaning TSA workers are set to receive paychecks after weeks going without. However that might not mean airport lines are back to normal. Some airports are still dealing with the fallout from the partial government shutdown which led to high rates of callouts among TSA workers, as well as hundreds of workers who turned in their resignations out of financial necessity.“Today, at the direction of President Trump and @SecMullinDHS, TSA has immediately begun the process of paying its workforce,” DHS said in a social media statement…
Eli Lilly is betting big that generative AI can do more than just write code and create images. It can design cures for diseases. The pharma giant just reached a $2.75 billion deal with Hong Kong-based Insilico Medicine to bring AI-discovered drugs to market, reports CNBC. Insilico gets $115 million up front, with the rest tied to hitting regulatory milestones and future sales. Insilico has developed 28 drugs using generative AI, with nearly half already in clinical trials. The company went public in Hong Kong in December and its shares are up more than 50% this year. CEO Alex Zhavoronkov…
Portable, packable, and—finally—delicious, a new generation of canned wine brings better grapes to the great outdoors. (Photo: Cavan Images/Getty Images)Published March 30, 2026 12:30PMYears ago, when a camper or biker wanted to take a can of wine along on an adventure, there was only one choice to be made: red or white? Today, shelves are stocked with cans of wine in a range of styles from sparkling to rosé to orange wines, often listing grape varietals and specific appellations. Most importantly, the wine inside is, by and large … actually good. “We’ve seen improvements in every aspect of canned wine, from…
Back in 1972, only 54 years ago, it was way harder for women and girls to play sports.Resources were scarce, there weren’t the same legal protections as today, it was socially discouraged—and coaches even often found themselves transporting entire teams themselves in their own cars, mopping courts and floors after a match, and funding the purchasing of uniforms and sweats. Before Title IX—the landmark legislation that ended sex-based discrimination in sports passed in 1972—girls and young women who wanted to go to college for athletics sometimes found they simply couldn’t. Maybe the admission requirements (which were different than they were for…
