Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own. Key Takeaways The modern hourly workforce is built on juggling multiple jobs, unpredictable schedules and constant tradeoffs. Businesses that bring stability through better forecasting and smarter scheduling will gain a lasting operational edge. Most founders and executives manage one company, one role and one schedule. Most people reading this probably do, too. One employer, one calendar, one set of work demands. But for millions of hourly workers, that is not how work functions.Millions of Americans don’t rely on a single job with one steady paycheck. They piece together income across multiple roles, stitching…

Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own. Key Takeaways Water–energy nexus turns water from a compliance issue into a hard operating KPI. High-recovery reuse and digital optimization cut both water withdrawals and energy spend, improving resilience. Data centers preview a future where siting, permits and growth hinge on integrated water–energy design. Industrial water risk is still too often framed as a supply problem. Will there be enough water? Can permits be secured? How do companies hedge scarcity? That framing is outdated.Across heavy industry, water stress is increasingly showing up on the energy bill. It drives higher electricity demand, exposes operations…
Google Maps SOPA Images/LightRocket via Getty ImagesThe Supreme Court heard oral arguments Monday in Chatrie v. United States, the first time the justices have taken a geofence warrant case directly. A decision is expected before the term ends. The case is a strange one to land at the Supreme Court in 2026, because the technique it asks about no longer functions the way it did when the warrant in question was issued. Google ended its ability to respond to geofence warrants more than a year ago. The pipeline that produced more than 20,000 of these warrants between 2018 and 2020 is…
Key Takeaways An Omaha restaurant owner dropped DoorDash, Uber Eats and other delivery apps after they collected about $188,000 in fees from his businesses in one year. He said the fees made it harder to retain staff and sometimes left him with losses if no driver showed up. DoorDash and Uber Eats generate billions in annual revenue, powered by the 15% to 30% cut they take on each order placed through their platforms. An Omaha, Nebraska, restaurant owner revealed that he spent six figures paying delivery app fees last year, leading him to stop using services like DoorDash and Uber…
The State Department just revealed a first look at a line of limited-edition passports designed to commemorate the 250th anniversary of American independence. A novel law was slated to take effect in Colorado in June this year, to help regulate AI use and address the potential discrimination people might face as AI-powered platforms become a routine part of housing and employment negotiations. But earlier this month, Elon Musk’s xAI—which owns X, formerly known as Twitter, and has now merged with SpaceX—sued to block the law, arguing it was burdensome and unconstitutional. Now the government has effectively co-signed the lawsuit, claiming that the Colorado law violates federal equal protection laws.
