Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own. Key Takeaways Slip-and-fall accidents in offices may seem minor, but can quickly create legal, financial and operational challenges. Responsibility often extends beyond one party and may involve employers, building owners, property managers and vendors, depending on who controls the hazard — and unclear ownership can increase liability. Beyond legal costs, these incidents can lead to productivity loss, higher insurance premiums, and reputational damage. Strong leaders reduce risk by assigning clear safety responsibility, maintaining inspections and documentation and encouraging early hazard reporting. It’s 10:30 a.m. on a Tuesday. Your team is productive, deadlines…
Artificial intelligence is moving into everything. It’s in the phone in your pocket, the watch on your wrist, the TV on your wall, and the appliances in your kitchen. As companies race to build AI wearables and ambient assistants, there’s a risk we skip a crucial step: grounding this future in the devices people already trust and use constantly. For most of us, that foundation is the smartphone.Smartphones sit at the center of daily life, helping with communication, payments, creativity, navigation, entertainment, and more. About 91% of Americans own one, according to Pew Research. They are personal, always with us, and…
Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own. Key Takeaways Software overload happens when teams keep stacking tools that individually promise efficiency but collectively create complexity, fragmentation and hidden costs that slow work down. The fix isn’t finding the perfect platform — it’s auditing what you have, consolidating where possible, and committing to simple, stable systems your team actually uses. At some point, software stopped being a tool and became a black hole. There’s a dashboard for your tasks, another for your team, yet another for sales, plus a few assorted for analytics. Just a few “lightweight” tools that were supposed…
There’s a tremendous, ageless opportunity hiding in plain sight, but marketers need to look through a different lens to see it. Right now, there are some 35 million U.S. empty nester women, as I calculate it, and a growing percentage of them are single. They aren’t retreating into rest and relaxation; they are stepping out to exult in activities they finally have the time, money, and motivation to pursue. Historically, marketers have largely overlooked this demographic. Or, if they address this market, it’s only for margin and share growth. That’s the wrong framework. The real opportunity isn’t just about capturing their…
Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own. I learned the danger of misinformation long before I ever set foot in a boardroom.Growing up, staying safe meant reading the room fast. Who was watching? What rumors were circulating? Which stories were half true but dangerous enough to get someone hurt? Misread the narrative, and you lose more than credibility; you lose safety.Years later, advising CEOs through reputational crises, I realized the same dynamics were playing out inside organizations. The only difference was scale and speed. We are no longer in the age of impact, when companies were applauded for stepping…
Meta laid off hundreds of employees this week, just months after notable cuts to its virtual reality and metaverse division. These job losses amount to less than one percent of the company’s overall workforce, reportedly impacting about 700 employees across a number of departments. But recent headlines indicate there’s likely more to come: Earlier this month, Reuters reported that Meta was planning large-scale cuts to its workforce that could slash 20% of jobs—or more—to help offset the company’s investments in artificial intelligence. (At the time, Meta dismissed those claims as “speculative reporting about theoretical approaches.”) Layoffs are not exactly unexpected…
Key Takeaways Gregorys Coffee has grown from one small Park Avenue bar in 2006 to 53 locations nationwide, with typical stores now doing over $1 million in annual sales. Revenue reached about $40 million last year and is projected to hit roughly $45 million this year. Gregorys Coffee founder and CEO Gregory Zamfotis attributes the growth to quality coffee, roasted in-house. Two decades ago, Gregory Zamfotis was at a crossroads. He was a second-year law student at Brooklyn Law School and had just been offered a full-time position at a real estate law firm. The only problem was that Zamfotis…
Transgender women athletes are now excluded from all women’s events at the Olympic Games in accordance with a new policy from the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The policy will be implemented from the 2028 Olympic Games onward. Female category events at the Olympics, or any other IOC events, will now be limited to “biological females.” Eligibility will be determined by a one-time SRY gene screening via saliva, cheek swab, or blood sample, which the IOC considers “unintrusive compared to other possible methods.” “The policy that we have announced is based on science and has been led by medical experts,” said…
Plans for the $90,000 Afeela have gone afoul. Sony Honda Mobility announced Wednesday it’s scrapping development of its joint venture electric vehicle after Honda flagged a writedown of as much as $15.7 billion and had to overhaul its entire EV strategy. The partnership combined Honda’s engineering expertise with Sony’s software and gaming capabilities. Sony Honda Mobility had planned to begin deliveries of the Afeela 1 in California late this year, with a second model expected as early as 2028. Pre-orders opened last year at $89,900. Customers who reserved the Afeela 1 will receive full refunds. Both Sony and Honda said…
Many people enjoy sleeping with their pets. Who wouldn’t? After a hard day of work, cuddling up with a cute animal that shows you unconditional love is just the thing many people need. But sadly, after digging into a newly released study, they may start to think twice before letting their furry friends into bed at night. The Conversation recently published an article highlighting the major findings of a study by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine that examined the pros and cons of having pets sleep in bed with them—something that 46% of respondents do. Though the research suggests…
