Our favorite way to celebrate the Fourth of July? Spending time outside. Camping trips, backpacking missions, mountain bike bashes, fly fishing adventures—the list goes on. Our second favorite way to celebrate the Fourth of July? That’d be inside, scoring enormous discounts on outdoor gear to prep for our next trip. Alas, such is the life of the gear nerd.
Now, we hope you’re out in the wilderness this Fourth of July, far from your laptop and enjoying the great outdoors. But if you’re stuck inside—and you love to save money on gear as much as you love to use it—you’re in the right place. Our diehard team of number-crunching gear heads scoured umpteen Fourth of July sales to bring you some of the best gear deals of the summer. We’re talking everything from bikes and coolers to ski jackets and trail runners. Our advice? Check out the sales below, save some dough, and get ready for your next outdoor adventure.
Evo’s Epic July 4th Sale
If you only have time to check out one Fourth of July sale, we’ll point you toward Evo. The online retailer has thousands of products on sale, including pricey bike and ski gear discounted by mind-boggling amounts.
Evo’s Bike Sale
We’ve pulled a couple of examples of the mountain bikes on offer at Evo’s Fourth of July Bike Sale below, but keep in mind that sizing is limited. This is unsurprising, as the bikes we selected are from 2024 and slashed by nearly half off. If the picks below don’t work for you and you’re on the hunt for a new mountain bike, it’s worth clicking this link to see all of the complete builds included in the Evo sale. You might have to do a little digging to find a frame size that works for you, but that’s a small price to pay for a couple grand off retail!
Santa Cruz 5010 5 C GX AXS evo Exclusive Complete Mountain Bike 2024: $3,800 ($6,899)

This Santa Cruz 5010 5 C GX AXS evo Exclusive Complete Mountain Bike is only available in an XS and XXL frame size, but in either case, the discount is XXXL. This carbon-framed mullet machine features a nimble 27.5” rear wheel with a capable 29” front wheel (both from Industry Nine), a wireless drivetrain from the good folks at SRAM, and 140mm and 130mm of front and rear travel respectively. Long story short, it’s a consummate cross-country crusher available for a steep discount.
Santa Cruz Nomad 6 C S Complete Mountain Bike 2024 for $3,000 ($5,899)

We’ve got to give a quick PSA: this Santa Cruz Nomad 6 C S Complete Mountain Bike is only available in an XXL frame. But if that sizing works for you, the Nomad is a critically acclaimed enduro beast. This version features a carbon frame, 170mm of chunder-gobbling suspension in the front and rear, SRAM accoutrements, and more. And again, the discount is hard to beat.
Giro Chamber II Bike Shoes for $60 ($150)

Bikes aren’t the only items slashed in this massive Evo bike sale. Trail essentials like the Vibram-soled Giro Chamber II Bike Shoes are heavily discounted, too. Sizing is limited to 41, 45, 46, 47, and 48 at the time of writing, but the 60-percent-off discount made this one too enticing not to share!
Evo’s Ski Sale
We know, we know—your skis and snowboards are likely enjoying a much-needed break. However, shopping for winter gear in the heat of summer is a tried-and-true hack for saving cash, and Evo’s Ski Sale is overflowing with serious deals and steals.
Arc’teryx Sabre Jacket – Men’s for $675 ($750)

While this certainly isn’t the biggest discount in Evo’s Fourth of July sale, the Arc’teryx Sabre Jacket is one of our all-time favorite ski shells, and we’re always hyped to see it on sale. This Arc’Teryx piece is stylish, well-designed, and crafted from an 80-denier, 3-layer Gore-Tex that withstands wet and windy mountain weather better than most.
Arc’teryx Sentinel Relaxed Jacket – Women’s for $350 ($750)

The equally popular and high-performance women’s version of the Sabre, the Arc’teryx Sentinel is worth the spend even at full retail. This relaxed version gives ladies a baggier, freeride fit, and it’s on sale for over half off. Now we’re talkin’.
Arc’teryx Beta SL Jacket – Women’s for $375 ($500)

The Arc’teryx Beta SL Jacket isn’t a specialized ski jacket like the Sabre or Sentinel. Rather, it’s a lightweight, three-layer, multi-purpose hardshell that we’ll use for everything from backcountry ski tours and mountaineering missions to rainy backpacking trips and daily commutes. Truth be told, we deploy this 40-denier Gore-Tex shell year-round, so the opportunity to save over a hundred bucks immediately caught the eye of our gear team.
Sweet Protection Switcher MIPS Helmet for $155 ($285)

Here’s a not-so-hot take for you: skiers and snowboarders don’t upgrade their helmets regularly enough. Retire tired headgear and step up your noggin safety with Sweet Protection’s Switcher MIPS Helmet. Comfortable, well-ventilated, and equipped with a rotational-force-mitigating MIPS liner, the Switcher is exactly what our gear team is looking for in the helmet department. And it’s nearly half off, too.

Arguably the Coolest July 4th Sale in Town: Up to 40% Off on RTIC Gear
It’s no secret that we’re fans of RTIC Coolers around here, as they offer campers unbeatable bang for buck. In particular, the brand’s rotomolded hard coolers, which are slashed by 25 percent off this Fourth of July, are durable, thermally efficient, and fairly priced even at full retail. While those hard coolers are the main draw here, the brand’s soft coolers are 30 percent off, and drinkware is 40 percent off, too.
25% Off Woolx Lightweight Tees
If your wilderness wardrobe needs a refresh, Woolx has you covered with discounted merino essentials this Fourth of July. Ladies, check out the versatile Mia V Neck. Gents, peep the debonair Endurance Tee. In either case, use the code JULY25 at checkout for 25 percent off through July 6th!
