How do you prove you’re the fastest skier on the mountain? Bomb down 2,000 feet of steep, technical terrain, and do it faster than anyone else. That’s exactly what the top skiers do in Episode 4 of Ultimate Mountain Athlete, the unprecedented competition created by Outside in collaboration with Toyota Trucks.
The episode starts with a race of speed, style, and nerve, as athletes vie for points on the way to see who is the best at rock climbing, skiing, and mountain biking—with $40,000 in prize money on the line.
After risking it all on the downhill, the athletes—four men and four women—return to Red Mountain Alpine Lodge for a well-earned rest day. But no. If you want to be the Ultimate Mountain Athlete, you better be ready for anything. And that means joining a fun “day off” competition in avalanche rescue training on an avy beacon hunt. And just to spice things up, there’s cold hard cash to win.
Who will take home the money—and who will get closer to being crowned Ultimate Mountain Athlete?
