From its earliest iterations in the 1800s, the bicycle had an elemental draw: simplicity. Throw a leg over and go wherever adventure calls, faster than your feet could ever carry you, the wind humming in your ears. The best e-bikes today retain that purity—simple and accessible—and Segway captures the spirit in the new Myon and MUXI e-bikes, built around the company’s innovative riding solutions. Here’s how to tell which one is right for you.
Myon

The Myon is a stylish commuter loaded with cutting-edge technology that never gets in the way of its pleasingly intuitive ride. A trio of sensors—torque, cadence, and a gyroscope—delivers smooth launches, natural pedal feel, and power for mixed terrain. Gone are the herky-jerky starts of less refined e-bikes, replaced with the seamless acceleration of Segway’s upgraded Algorithm 2.0 software working through the company’s TurboTuned optimization suite.
The nominal 500-watt motor produces 85 Nm of torque. Translation: The Myon dishes ample power when you need it and exceptional efficiency when you don’t, providing a range of up to 80 miles. Managing this power is cutting edge too, with push-button electronic shifting operating the Shimano CUES derailleur and 9-speed cassette with effortless precision.
MUXI

Function meets style in the MUXI, a short-tail e-bike equally suited to grocery runs and joy rides. Add the optional Passenger Kit and it becomes the chariot of choice for school dropoffs, balancing an aesthetic midway between beach cruiser and Dutch cargo bike.
The MUXI harnesses a single-speed drivetrain to a 750-watt direct-drive motor, delivering elegant simplicity with plenty of power. Direct-drive allows features such as descent control, regenerative braking, and traction control—options you’d pay thousands for at any car dealership.
MUXI and Myon both feature Segway’s 2.4-inch smart TFT display for navigation, ride metrics, and smartphone compatibility. The advanced lighting system includes turn indicators, tail/brakelights, front light bar, and auto-headlight with customized lens to maximize beam pattern. When the sun peaks out, the display automatically gets brighter; ride into a tunnel and the display dims for maximum readability. Both models look after their own security too, thanks to integrated AirLock and Apple Find My, plus a new Lost Mode that allows owners to remotely disable their bikes.

Accessories
Segway also offers a suite of add-ons for the Myon and MUXI (and other models)—including Rearview Radar which integrates with the bike’s lighting and electronics and alerts riders to approaching traffic. More welcome extras include: front basket, e-bike mirror, and Easy Clamp Phone Mount. The MUXI adds an optional middle basket and fenders, while a Removable Toptube allows the Myon to instantly switch its aesthetic from laid-back step-through to traditional diamond frame.
Myon and MUXI are marvelous examples of technical innovation, but their biggest achievement is keeping the electronic wizardry behind the curtain—leaving the simplicity of the cycling lifestyle front and center. Don’t think about how it works. Just get on your bike and go.
