    Published June 23, 2026 02:31AM

Amazon Prime Day has become synonymous with savings. The online behemoth’s biggest sale of the year runs from June 23rd to June 26th, and not surprisingly, the hub is already overflowing with early Amazon Prime deals on everything from A to Z. Seriously, we’re talking air purifiers to ZipLocs. But this ain’t Good Housekeeping (no offense to our much fancier friends at Good Housekeeping), and we’re focused on gear over here.

Thankfully, there’s plenty of outdoor gear available during Amazon Prime Day, too. Our gear team sifted through the digital deluge to bring you 18 awesome deals on outdoor essentials like camp tents, stoves, trail-ready water filters, and more.

That said, savvy gear shoppers shouldn’t solely focus on Amazon during the Prime Day madness. Over the years, outdoor retailers like REI, Backcountry, and more have started running simultaneous sales to compete with Bezos’ massive marketplace. And this year, our gear team believes those alternative sales are more stacked than ever. In many cases, specialized outdoor retailers offer outdoor enthusiasts deals on gear that simply won’t pop up on A-to-Z Amazon—or at least won’t be slashed to the same degree. For example, here’s what you can expect at REI this week:

All that to say, in this article, you’ll find 18 outdoor gear deals we handpicked from Amazon Prime Day deals. But we’ll also point you toward deals from go-to outdoor retailers when warranted. After all, our job here is to share the best deals on outdoor gear with our readers—and that’s exactly what we do below.

If We Had to Pick the 3 Best Amazon Prime Day Deals…

    1. The best electric cooler we’ve ever tested is 20% off
    2. Last year’s top-selling product is back again with a wild discount
    3. The budget running shoes that blew our columnist away are now under $50

    🏕️ Tents

    (Photo: Amazon)

    Coleman 8-Person Tent $190 ($285)

Looking for a new tent? Amazon’s Prime Day is the place to be if you’re a car camper. Coleman’s Dark Room Skydome, our testers’ favorite tent for car campers on a budget, is affordable even at full price. During Prime Days, the already reasonably priced tent is slashed by up to 33 percent off. While we’ve highlighted the eight-person version, it’s also available (and on sale) in 4-person, 6-person, and 10-person sizes.

🛍️ Amazon Prime Day Alternative: Backcountry’s Summer Sale

Backpackers should check out Backcountry’s summer sale for up to 40 percent off all types of trail-ready gear. Tester-approved backpacking tents like the Big Agnes Tiger Wall 3 Platinum (was $700, now $560) and Tiger Wall 2 Platinum (was $650, now $454) are on sale for serious discounts.

    💤 Sleeping Gear

Once again, Amazon is the place to score if you’re a car camper. These reasonably priced, capacious yet cozy Coleman Brazos sleeping bags are on sale for a steal.

Coleman Brazos 30 Sleeping Bag for $43 ($54)

If you frequently overheat at night or only camp in the summer months, go with the lighter, cooler Coleman Brazos 30 Sleeping Bag.

Coleman Brazos 20 Sleeping Bag for $44 ($59)

If you like to camp in the shoulder season—or are convinced you’re cold-blooded—stay toasty in the Coleman Brazos 20-degree sleeping bag.

    Coleman Self-Inflating Sleeping Pad for $46 ($70)

Pair either of those Coleman sleeping bags with this self-inflating sleeping pad (available with or without an integrated pillow) for a snooze-worthy setup that comes in at under a hundred bucks. That sounds pretty dreamy to us!

🛍️ Amazon Prime Day Alternative: REI’s Sleeping Bag Deals

Backpackers, peep these backpacking sleeping bag deals from REI. You’ll find double-digit discounts on low-weight, high-performance sleeping bags from brands like Marmot, Therm-a-Rest, and Nemo. This Marmot Bantamweight 15 in particular caught our eye—it’s a well-reviewed, discontinued design that’s on sale for 43 percent off and weighs in at a pound and a half for a regular size!

    🍳 Camp Kitchen

Dometic CFX Electric Coolers for 20% off

This electric cooler may be more of a luxury than a camp cooking essential, but sometimes, you just want to be 100% positive your food is staying cold AF while car camping. (Or, you know, you want to pack ice cream for a weekend camping trip. That’s legit, too.) The Dometic CFX5 3 won our hearts (and our awards) for the title of Best Electric Cooler in this year’s cooler testing extravaganza. We were wildly impressed with its honest-to-god fridge and freezer performance without the hassle of ice, as well as its bombproof exterior (seriously, it’s nearly impossible to dent that thing). All of Dometic’s CFX electric powered coolers are 20% off for Prime Day in a wide variety of sizes, but if you want the true tester-approved model, go for the Dometic CFX5 3, which has a 36L capacity we found more than adequate.

Otherwise, we’re pointing car campers toward Coleman’s tried-and-true, durable campstoves.

    Coleman Triton 2-Burner Campstove for $84 ($130)

Coleman’s campstoves have a reputation for longevity and power, and that’s precisely what the Triton 2-Burner delivers. With 22,000 BTUs of sizzling power and heavy-duty steel housing, it’s a stove that’s built to last decades of camp cookouts.

🛍️ Amazon Prime Day Alternative: Backcountry’s Sale on Camp Cooking Gear

Backcountry’s summer sale is loaded like a campfire-baked potato. Okay, maybe we’re just getting hungry. But all jokes aside, if you’re hungry for deals on camp cooking gear, make a reservation at Backcountry.com. Backpackers will be pumped to see MSR’s Trail Mini Duo Cookset on sale for 45 percent off, and the Optimus Crux Lite backpacking stove on sale for 50 percent off. Pair those two together for a singletrack-slaying backpacking cook kit that’s light in the pack and lighter on the wallet. You’re welcome.

    👟 Footwear

    Nortiv 8 Allswifit ActiveAiry Women’s for $48 ($60)
    Nortiv 8 Armadillo 1 Hiking Boot Men’s for $47 ($60)

To be honest, Amazon isn’t our go-to for outdoor footwear. But if you’re looking for budget kicks that get the job done, it’s worth giving Amazon a gander. Not convinced? Give this article a read, where Outside contributor Maggie Slepian compares pairs from value-driven brand Nortiv 8 with mid-range options from Hoka and top-of-the-line kicks from Saucony. The Nortiv 8 Allswifit ActiveAiry running shoes she tested are on sale through Amazon Prime Day for 20 percent off, along with a bunch of other Nortiv 8 hikers and sandals.

Slepian’s on-the-road research confirms these Nortiv 8’s punch above their pricetag, and they’re now slashed to an even more mind-bogglingly economical 48 bucks!

A Nortiv 8 top-seller, the Armadillo 1 hiking boot is heavily discounted during Amazon Prime Day. We haven’t given these boots a test, but after thousands of Amazon reviews, the Armadillo earns a rating of 4.4 stars, which is worth trying out, especially at this low price point.

🛍️ Amazon Prime Day Alternative: Altra’s 30% Off Sale

Hikers, backpackers, marathon veterans, and trail runners should be sprinting to Altra’s site, where the footwear outfitter is jabbing back at Amazon with its own Prime Day sale. More specifically, you can score 30 percent off key styles like the Torin 8, Lone Peak 9, Flow 3, and Wild 3.

    🏞️ More Outdoor Essentials

RTIC 8 QT Road Trip Personal Cooler for $47 ($59)

It’s no secret that coolers can be pricey. Nor is it a secret that RTIC makes some of the best coolers in the business when it comes to balancing affordability with performance. The petite RTIC 8 QT Road Trip Personal Cooler is a cute 12-can carrier that’s low profile, highly practical, and even more affordably priced during Amazon Prime Day.

    RTIC 52 Quart Ultra-Light Hard Cooler for $183 ($229)

For serious adventures, RTIC’s 52 Quart Ultra-Light Hard Cooler is hard to beat. It sports an injection-molded design with up to three-inches of ice-insulating foam, keeping weight low while maximizing temperature retention. Now on sale for under $200, this 52-quart cooler makes it easy to pick RTIC over its pricier competitors.

Garmin epix Pro Sapphire Edition 47mm for $500 ($1000)

If you cop a $1000 Garmin smartwatch for $800, you’ve got yourself a good deal. This powerful, titanium-bezeled, highly versatile epix Pro Sapphire Edition smartwatch is now on sale for half off. That’s 500 bucks off! That’s beyond a good deal—that’s “I-bought-it-used-or-stolen-on-Craigslist” pricing.

LifeStraw Personal Water Filter for $11 ($20)

You know what sucks? Giardia. You know what else sucks? This Lifestraw Personal Water Filter (which, btw, was our most-sold item during last year’s Prime Day sale). Slurp up precious H2O from questionable sources on the trail and around the world with this reliable and affordable filter.

    LifeStraw Family for $48 ($90)

Camping with a big crew? Make sure everyone is drinking clean, filtered water with this 12-gallon, gravity-fed filtration system from LifeStraw.

Olight ArkPro Ultra for $110 ($130)

Slide 1700 lumens into your pocket with the Olight ArkPro Ultra, an Everyday Carry essential that’s as bafflingly sleek as it is bright. It’s also currently 20 bucks off during Amazon Prime Day, making the splurge a bit easier.

    Hedgehog Octopus for $127 ($160)

What’s the point of getting high-quality gear if you don’t take care of it? Keep two pairs of boots dry and happy with Hedgehog’s wall-mounted Octopus Gear Dryer, now on sale for $127.

Hedgehog GO Portable Dryer $135 ($169)

A must for traveling skiers and boarders, the Hedgehog GO is a portable yet powerful boot dryer that helps fight odor and increase liner longevity.

    💆 Recovery Essentials

    (Photo: Amazon)

RejuvaWrap Infrared Sauna Blanket For $240 ($400)

A cheaper alternative to pricey saunas, sauna blankets are becoming an increasingly popular recovery tool. LifePro’s knocked $160 off their RejuvaWrap Infrared Sauna Blanket during Amazon’s Prime Day sale, making it an opportune time to give the tech a try.

    Hyperice Hypervolt Go 2 For $109 ($130)

A compact yet capable massage gun, Hyperice’s Hypervolt Go 2 is perfect for post-adventure recovery both at home and on the road. Your IT band might hurt, but the double-digit discount doesn’t.

Normatec Elite Legs for $999 ($1099)

One of our all-time favorite recovery tools? Normatec’s Elite Legs. These relatively portable, rechargeable compression sleeves help athletes and adventurers clear lactic acid, mitigate swelling, and give tired muscles a break. However, the price can be hard to swallow. Thankfully, they’re on sale during Amazon Prime Day. While it’s not the biggest discount in this guide, we can’t miss the opportunity to point you toward these Normatec recovery essentials!
