Everyone wants a winter jacket built with warmth and style. But nailing both sides of the equation is easier said than done. Backcountry does it with the new BGA Waas ALLIED Down Hooded Jacket, and wearing is believing. It’s made for easy packability on backcountry tours and extended ski trips, with a not-too-techy look that fits in anywhere.
Adventure-Ready Style
The BGA Waas ALLIED Down Hooded Jacket isn’t the only jacket that packs down into its own pocket—what sets it apart is what it looks like when you unpack it. It’s a tech jacket that doesn’t look techy. With its accented see-through chest pocket and unique baffle construction, it fits in just as well on the skintrack as it does on Main Street. You won’t find many comparable jackets with this kind of style.
This isn’t a case of fashion over function, though. For starters, it weighs less than a pound. The 800-fill goose down delivers a premium warmth-to-weight ratio, while the durable ripstop fabric withstands abrasion, and a DWR finish sheds moisture. The zippered chest pocket—a great place to keep your phone handy—complements large dump pockets that can store everyday items like gloves and beanies but are still big enough to accommodate technical gear like climbing skins.
Eco-Friendly Design
Along with performance and style, the BGA Waas ALLIED Down Hooded Jacket achieves a lower-impact footprint. The jacket not only uses a recycled shell fabric but also meets some of the industry’s most important benchmarks for environmental responsibility.
The 800-fill goose down is Responsible Down Standard-certified for ethical sourcing, while the DWR treatment on the outer fabric is made without intentionally added PFAS (forever chemicals). Those fabrics are both bluesign® APPROVED and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100-certified, meaning hat they’re tested for harmful substances.
The only question left: Who doesn’t want a jacket with this much warmth, style, and versatility in a package under a pound?
