The largest monthly jump in gas prices in six decades caused a sharp spike in inflation in March, creating major challenges for the inflation-fighters at the Federal Reserve and heightening the political hurdles for the White House. Consumer prices rose 3.3% in March from a year earlier, the Labor Department said Friday, up sharply from just 2.4% in February and the biggest yearly increase since May 2024. On a monthly basis, prices rose 0.9% in March from February, the largest such increase in nearly four years. It’s the first read on inflation to capture the effects of the Iran war. The spike in…
Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own. Key Takeaways Most side hustles fail from lack of system, not lack of effort. Four new AI tools can replace an entire team for a solopreneur. How to build a live dashboard that shows you exactly where to double down and where to stop wasting time. Most entrepreneurs are still using AI the same way they did two years ago — as a writing assistant. But in the last few months, AI crossed a threshold. It can now research, automate, execute and report back. Using it just for copy in 2026 is…
On my last day at my old job, I couldn’t go in. I’d been burning through sick days for months (more than I could explain to my manager) because I didn’t yet have words for what was happening to me. I was 25, running product at a tech company, trying to build a career while quietly unraveling. I’d been to the ER twice that year, seen a string of specialists, and been told by more than one doctor that my symptoms were probably psychological. I was terrified. Eventually, I was diagnosed with autoimmune disease, a condition where the immune system…
The scariest movie you see this year might be set in a liminal space. While studios like Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery are gearing up to release big-budget blockbusters this year, some independent distributors like A24 and Neon are embracing low-budget horror films that take place in one setting—specifically liminal spaces, which are empty or abandoned places that have an eerie and surreal feel to them. Undertone, which came out last month, was originally made on a micro-budget of $500,000 and acquired by A24 for an undisclosed mid-seven-figure deal, following its debut at Fantasia Fest last year. It has earned…
It’s a low time for higher education, depending on where you look. In recent years, dozens of colleges and universities have closed their doors, and dozens more have merged in an attempt to survive. There are many factors that are leading to these closures, but it typically comes down to a lethal combination of increasing costs and lower enrollment. Smaller private schools are finding themselves in harm’s way, and it’s become worse over the past five years. Conversely, other schools are thriving and becoming increasingly selective. Vanderbilt University, for instance, recently announced an acceptance rate of 2.8% out of a…
Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own. Key Takeaways Get crystal clear on your non-negotiables. Study real decisions, not public declarations. Interview the company back. Decide whether your values can thrive, not just survive. With repeated layoffs, public controversies and growing scrutiny around how technology and AI are shaping our lives, finding a tech company that’s doing meaningful work can feel like a daunting, if not impossible, task. I know, because I’m a career and executive coach for tech leaders, many of whom are working diligently to make a positive change in the world while simultaneously managing pressure from…
If you pay to keep ads out of your YouTube experience, keep an eye on your monthly bill. The Google-owned streaming service quietly announced today that it would be raising prices across its plans in an email to U.S. subscribers. Individual YouTube Premium subscribers will soon pay $15.99 a month, a two dollar increase from the previous price of $13.99. For family plan subscribers, pricing will jump all the way from $22.99 to $26.99. YouTube Premium Lite subscribers will pay $8.99 a month, up from $7.99. The change to YouTube Premium plans, which will go into effect at the end…
Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own. Key Takeaways In an era of rising consumer prices, businesses must work overtime to ensure their value is still obvious to the people they serve. Customers under economic pressure often default to buying new rather than maintaining what they have, even when restoration is the smarter choice. Businesses must bridge that gap in reasoning. Backing claims with studies, testimonials and measurable results helps customers see your offering as the more valuable option, especially when budgets are tight. There’s a simple rule for B2C companies that I see lots of founders forget: Anything…

Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own. Key Takeaways Succession planning is a vital, proactive process that protects a business’s value, ensures its continuity and secures the owner’s financial future. Entrepreneurs should start by defining their personal and business goals and consult with trusted advisors to guide them in exploring and selecting an appropriate exit strategy. A comprehensive succession plan must be a living document that details valuation, identifies potential successors and is regularly adjusted to remain relevant. For many small to mid-sized business owners, their company is more than just a business — it’s a legacy built over…
