At 3 a.m., in the midst of labor, a doula we’ll call Renee stepped into the hallway to steady herself. She had been supporting a laboring client for nearly 12 hours. The room was warm, the lights low, the energy focused. But outside, her body told a different story. A sudden wave of heat rose through her chest, her heart began to race, her shirt damp and sticky with sweat. She hadn’t slept well in weeks. The brain fog had been hijacking her daily functions. Still, she took a breath, wiped her face, and walked back in to continue holding…
Customers can now get their groceries delivered through…Airbnb. If that sounds strange, blame regulations. CEO Brian Chesky announced Wednesday that the company is expanding into travel services, reports the New York Post, adding grocery delivery through Instacart, boutique hotels, car rentals, luggage storage, tours, and airport pickups to its platform. The shift comes as regulations have squeezed Airbnb’s core business in major markets. Spain hit the company with a $75 million fine over non-compliant listings. New York banned nearly all short-term private rentals in 2023. Barcelona is letting thousands of rental licenses expire in 2028. Paris stepped up its crackdown in 2026. “We…
Mega tech companies are firing humans, while others like Starbucks are actually firing their AI systems! (Photo by Chung Sung-Jun/Getty Images)Getty ImagesStarbucks just fired its AI, and the timing tells a bigger story about the polite narrative circulating in boardrooms and on conference stages right now. It goes like this. Automation is not destroying jobs, it is simply transitioning them. Whether it is in tech or healthcare, workers will move into new, higher-value roles. The labor market will rebalance. Everyone will be fine. After a year of conversations with CHROs, CFOs, and CEOs across 92 countries, the data on the ground…
Before you fire off that email to your team, you might want to spell-check a few words. New research from Unscramblerer.com analyzed Google search data for “how to spell” and found that “business” ranks as the fourth most misspelled word in America, with 123,600 searches between January and May 2026. The culprit? That darn silent “i” that trips people up. The top spot goes to “bougie,” followed by “favorite” and “through.” Other commonly misspelled words include “tomorrow,” “because,” “definitely,” and “beautiful.” The research also broke down the most misspelled words by state. Alabama, Maryland, Mississippi and Wisconsin all struggle the…
After more than a decade of mixing and kneading dough in his family’s Brooklyn pizzeria, Salvatore Lo Duca recently made a distressing discovery: A key component of their thin-crust pies, bromated flour, contained a suspected carcinogen already banned in much of the world. So, in the back kitchen of Lo Duca Pizza, the 39-year-old began tweaking the original recipe handed down by his parents — with unexpected results.“When we started playing around with a different flour, I actually took a liking to it,” said Lo Duco, who runs the shop with his five brothers. “It’s a little more expensive, but the…

Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own. Insurance companies used to spend months pricing disasters. Earthian AI wants to do it in real time. The Amsterdam-based startup, founded by former Harvard researcher Shayan Shokri, is building what it calls a “financial inference layer,” an AI system designed to tell banks, insurers, and asset managers not just what’s happening in the world, but also what those events are actually worth in dollars and their risk exposure. And investors are paying attention. On April 30, Earthian announced a pre-seed raise at a $112 million valuation — structured as equity plus debt — with backing from Rabobank and NVIDIA’s Inception…
Updated May 22, 2026 09:18AMBrazilian shamans, psychedelics, breathwork, cold plunging. Ed O’Brien, the British songwriter and guitarist best known for his work with Radiohead, has embraced it all as part of his healing journey. “I am drawn to phenomena that are on the fringes and things you can’t explain,” he told Outside on a call from London. “I believe in magic. It’s inherent to music-making. Music doesn’t come from studied, accumulated knowledge. It comes through you.”Magic and mysticism are key themes in O’Brien’s second solo album, Blue Morpho, which dropped May 22. Four years in the making, the project is both…
